Q: What are you working on for the HAVN project?

I am installing all the plumbing on the boat so that includes all of the drainage, the water, and the pump for the sanitary off the boat.

Q: Is there anything specific that makes you excited to be working on such a unique project?

The environment is really exciting. I was really excited to start working on the project because Nick would tell me there’s fourteen foot ceilings and beams everywhere but I couldn’t fully picture it until I actually got on it. It is definitely a totally one of a kind project.

Q: Did you think that HAVN was going to get approved?

Oh yeah for sure, it was an incredible idea.

Q: What is your background and how did you end up doing the type of work you’re doing right now?

I have been plumbing for eight years. I started in commercial construction, working on a lot of condos and big commercial projects and then I moved to residential for a few years. I was doing side jobs everyday when I realized I could do this myself so I have been working on my own for two years now. I find working on my own way more fulfilling.

Q: Do you have any other businesses or passions projects that you’re working on or anything you’re interested in pursuing in the future?

I practice jiu jitsu almost every day and eventually one day would like to turn that into my career. I found the martial art very interesting so one day about three years ago I decided to give it a try. I go to Zuma in downtown Victoria.

Q: What are some things you love about working and living on the West Coast?

I’ve lived here my whole life, it’s a great place to live and work and I love it because everything you could want is here on the West Coast. There is a little bit of everything here in Victoria no matter what your interest is. You can go surfing, kayaking, go for a hike up a mountain or go rock climbing, everything is here.

Q: What are some fun facts about you?

Well as I previously mentioned I really like jujitsu. I do that almost every day. I love surfing. I typically go to Jordan River and Sombrio Beach and sometimes Tofino as well. The winter is the best time for surfing, it’s when the best waves are, but I love to surf all year round. I like hiking as well, basically I like doing all the classic Vancouver Island things.
